His sons have done well at the Midland Bull Test for the past several years including winning the test in 2002. They are truely earning the respect of western cattlemen looking for thickness and growth with great carcass traits. A PAPA Equator son, "Universe", was our first major purchase of herd bulls as he was the top-selling bull in the Performance Breeders Test and Sale in 1996. He was the highest ADG bull, heaviest weaning and yearling weight bull and the highest marbling by a considerable margin as well as being one of the larger Ribeye bulls in the sale. Universe is the dominant bull in the Angus breed for performance and carcass. He is a line-bred "Rito" tracing back to RR Rito 707 22 times in 8 generations. Here in Iowa we have found Universe and his offspring to be endophyte, heat and humidity tolerant. Limited Semen Available - Call us. |

Barney was purchased in dam, and is in a contemporary group of 1 as his late May birth date did not fit our Feb. 1 to March 31 calving season. You could say he has been playing catch-up since birth, but has continually exceeded our expectations. Since we develop all our breeding stock on a total forage and fiber program, Barney has never seen any corn or corn starch. On May 3rd, at 11 months of age, we put him in with 35 heifers for 60 days clean-up breeding after AI. July 1 to July 9 Barney had a long week off then was put in with 42 commercial heifers to breed until September 1st. This picture was taken on October 8th. On Oct. 7th we put him in the chute, clipped his head and haltered him for the first time. In 10 minutes Barney was leading from stall to stall quietly, so we tied him in a stall where he stood for an hour without pulling. On the 8th we again put him in the chute, used the blower and curry on his body, then led him outside for the first time and tied him to a fence where he stood to have the mud curried off his legs. We then led him in front of the barn and took this picture. Barney is unusually quiet and easy to handle. We are located in Southern Iowa and have nothing but Fescue pastures.
All indications are that both Barney and his mother are extremely Fescue
and heat tolerant. Check Barney's stats and see where else he excels
such as his 4.01 IMF score with never a handful of corn. Also willing to sell 1/3 interest and possible possession. Top |

| A "Power" son, 431 was retained to add more body mass in with a highly acceptable carcass profile, improve fleshing, milking and rebreedability while continuing our "Rito" line-breeding program. "431" transmits extra body length to his offspring. Power 431 is endophyte tolerant and heat and humidity tolerant. Half interest sold to the Doug Geerdes herd at Everly, IA.

"Tender" is homozygous for all three GeneSTAR tenderness markers. In addition to this he set a new yearling weight record for our forage and fiber program, with no corn starch being fed. He is our Largest Ribeye, Lowest Fat, Highest ADG and Highest Yearling Weight bull in this calf crop. Look over his pedigree and performance figures and then study his picture. Obviously the proof will be in his offspting. He gets to run with our cows this summer.

| Another line-bred "Rito" bull. In 2004 he set a new 365 day weight for our total forage and fiber program at 1339 lbs. "Rainmaker" is out of a 1st calf heifer from the Stevenson program in Montana. He is a very well balanced bull that takes an extremely long stride. He has the hardest foot that I've ever seen. We expect "Rainmaker" to add length to his calves along with producing some of the best daughters we've seen. Rainmaker's first calves were born on our ranch this spring, and it appears that he will be a low birth weight bull. He is endophyte tolerant along with heat and humidity tolerant. Owned with Walter Northcutt, Middleton, MO. Top |

| RR Optima 4098 is intensely linebred to Power Play and Rito 707. He was purchased to add performance, thickness and soundness along with superior marbling and increased ribeye size. Optima should sire moderate to low birth weight calves. He was our pick out of over 400 bulls in the 2005 Performance Breeders Sale. Semen has already been sold to New Zealand. Optima was one of the extreme top carcass profiles in the Performance Breeders Test. He is massively heavy muscled and deep bodied along with being extremely correct on his feet and legs. Owned with Rollin Rock at Sidney, MT and Ken Bodner of Raynesford, MT. Top |
